LAUNCH DELAY HISTORY

Every time Artemis III's launch date has moved. Original target: 2024. Current target: 2028. That's 4 years of slip in 7 years of program existence.

4 YEARS
of schedule slip since the original 2024 target
Program has existed for 9 years. Slipped for 4 of them.

THE PATTERN

Every 12-18 months, the launch date moves forward by another 12-18 months. The gap between "now" and "launch" never actually closes.

The primary bottleneck has shifted from SLS (which flew in 2022) to Starship HLS, which has never landed on the Moon, never demonstrated orbital refueling, and needs both before crew can fly.

NASA's own Inspector General has flagged the timeline as unrealistic in every annual report since 2021.
